Devilish Fly Fishers Club

The Devilish Fly Fishers Club was founded in 1997 by NaturAventur proprietor Denis Landreville in response to the need to ensure the preservation of the Diable River and of its natural habitat including of course, its fishery.  Faced with numerous competing demands for water and land to support the many recreational and urban development projects in the Tremblant area, the Club was created in part to facilitate the gathering of fly anglers and others devoted to ensuring the preservation and sustainability of the Diable River fishery.

NaturAventur supports the Club's habitat improvement initiatives that are underway on the Diable River Sector including;

  • Stocking of trout.
  • Maintenance of fishing paths.
  • Shoreline & aquatic habitat management.
  • Promoting sustainable fishing practices.
  • Monitoring the condition and uses of water and habitat.

The Club also has a mandate to promote the sport of fly fishing in the region. It offers its members opportunities to get together, to organize outings and share experiences and stories. NaturAventur supports and participates in many Club events including;

  • First Saturday of the Month -  Activities for Club Members are planned on each of the first Saturdays of the month from May to October.
  • General Meeting (Domaine St. Bernard) - usually in April.
  • Annual discover fishing for kids event.
  • Annual Diable River Team Challenge.
  • 2008 Canadian National Fly Fishing Championship - Sept. 7-13.

More information is available about Club activities and event from the Devilish Fly Fishing Club.

Agir pour la Diable -
An alliance for the Diable River and its watershed

Its mission is to bring together the Diable watershed’s stakeholders, in a process of participatory planning and partnership for a sustainable management of the region’s water resources.

Arising from a coalition of concerned groups, firms and municipalities, the creation of The Alliance for the Diable River reflects a shared concern toward our region’s water resource's future. It also shows the will of local and regional stakeholders to join their efforts and take steps within a participatory process for sound and proactive management of one of our region’s most precious resources: water.

The principal mandate for AGIR can be summarized in the following three fields of activity:

  • To rally municipal, business and community players in the development and promotion of a master plan for water management for the Devil’s River watershed;
  • To contribute to the development, integration and dissemination of information regarding the watershed and the River’s water resource;
  • To inform, sensitize and consult with the population on issues of water resource management and its implications.
